The island must have been so breathtaking beautiful in those days.... what has happened to it is such a shame... the building projects in Flamands now are gargantuan... beyond belief!

This is just fantastic, thank you for finding and posting it.

But as Elgreaux says, it's a shame how far removed from that image is to the current topography.
