"We stayed at an inn run by Rémy de Haenen, the Mayor. During World War II, he bought for $100 the promontory on which his six‐room Eden Rock guest house now stands."
Another interesting one:
"Once on St. Martin (good air service from New York and Miami), you can fly to St. Barts for $24 round trip".
Different times, huh.
