SBH 10 Fathoms Below IV (Final)

One of the easiest dives in the area is "The Aquarium" on the South side of Les Gros Islets. Shallow depths and excellent viability, combined with abundant sea life make this dive a photographer's delight. My time there Tuesday afternoon was a splendid way to cap a series of enjoyable underwater experiences during this visit to St. Barth.

Wonderful pictures. Na delight to see the baby corals doing so well. In fact, on the 28th their will be a fundraising luncheon at Tamarin to raise funds for the Coral Restoration Association. It is a chance to have a wonderful lunch, meet fellow lovers of the island’s waters, sea life, and environment and conservationists. A donation of 150 euros covers it all. This is a wonderful event that Phil and I will be enjoying for probably the 4th time.

Let us know and we will give you more info.

Thanks Jim for your wonderful fathom pix, have enjoyed your underwater adventures. Look forward to your next visit in the deep.

Jim-
How do you compare the reefs and diving around SBH to other locales?

In a word, favorably, given my preferences for easy, relatively shallow diving with good visibility. The Marine Preserve insures that divers can enjoy a protected habitat. For other divers seeking adventure, etc. locations that feature walls and drop-offs, for example, may be more attractive to dive. The only other locale that I really love is Cozumel, where the "drift" diving and crystal clear waters are inviting. But the cuisine topside there can't compare! :)
