Have to share this excellent book. Donoghue has written some compelling stories, "Room" among them. "Akin" is a standout. The story of Noah, a man turning 80, who plans a trip to Paris to explore some questions about his mother. At the last minute, he is forced by circumstance to take along his eleven-year-old great-nephew, Michael. The interchanges between the two range from funny to sad. I shall say no more. If you have enjoyed my recommendations, you will want to read this one.

I have moved it to a high spot on my list. I do enjoy so many of the books you mention. So many books, so little time.
