Also: Alexander Magras, Lou Lou Magras, Porter Henry (Les Amis de St. Barth), Bill Luke, Bill Grover, Bill Hensey, David and Peggy Rockefeller, The Rothschild family; just to mention a couple of those from the late '60s and '70s.

Regular power outages. DARK nights! Early to bed, early to rise.

    NO "town" water, just cisterns.

In my pre-move cleanout, I ran across an original copy of Porter Henry's newsletter. Those of us who had the experience of meeting him know that Porter was Porter, unique.

Just started. Some isolated construction sounds that I did not pinpoint...could have been home repairs.

In Public. In a small Creole house (no longer there) on the left before you would turn to Franck's chef's market on the right...

the big tournament are now in St Jean on courts near the territorial pool...
I think the courts are still at the entry to Gustavia but just for casual play, training for the tournaments, etc...
not sure if they will survive the next major renovation of Gustavia when the fish market moves

Ugh...that’s unfortunate! The villa we are renting in Lurin this year, different from the last 3 trips staying in Lurin, is right in your neck of the woods. We may be neighbors, in fact. Hope that’s gone by the time we get there!

So the flightless crane is not a welcome addition to your bird photography?... it would fit in a "remembered but no longer there" thread on a Cuba forum...

Good that the yellow flowered aloe are beginning to bloom. That usually brings hummingbirds and bananaquits to the front of the house and its garden view

Having reasonably timed flights to SBH - years ago we had charter flights to St. Kitts (from Detroit or Toronto - mostly non-existant now) with Larry Gray (RIP) shuttling us thru lines @ SKB & getting us to SBH b4 noon.

On our first round with Larry we asked how he would know us. "Bring a rubber ducky". Cool. We bought rubber ducky bath toys and all of us waved them as we got into SKB. He - "You assholes, let's get around these stupid lines". Love @ first sight. We left some for him & the rest went to our housekeeper for her kids.

On future trips he did let me wrangle that Apache & just solidy said, on long approach to SBH, "get your hands off, I'm legal". He also did flyovers to show off St. Kitts before we went on to SBH. I got pics somewhere in the archives, I'll try to find them. Miss him, big time.

On flights over, I used to bring my Jeppeson Carib charts and get invited into the "front". The pilots were always really fun & would mark the charts with actual course & info and sign them with the flight data. These days - I'd get shot before I got close to the "cabin". Sigh...

    Amy,

I can't find that one in my tree books - no leaves or needles.

Sorry for that "outlook". Hope it's gone soon.
