La Cucaracha!
The last photo that I saw of La Cucaracha had it located at the Wall House museum, but that's the airport fence behind it in this photo. It is a model, smaller than the original, of the first plane which Rémy de Haenen landed on Hippolyte Lédée's savannah in 1945.

The small-scale replica of the plane, which was first seen at the museum exhibit opening on Dec 18, has since been moved by the airport where they built a stone base for it... located across from the gas station as it were... lovely sculpture by Silvio Dias, and part of a St Barth Art Project, which has at least 2 more commissioned works related to the history of the island... there also seems to be some discussion about the date of Remy de Haenen's first landing with Curaracha...
