November is becoming an increasingly busy month, with the Gourmet Festival, Swedish Week and Gustavialoppet, the Caribbean Rum Festival, the Le Select 70th, and probably a few that I’ve forgotten. With those behind us, it’s on to the next November event...
The Cata Cup races take place this week, four days of racing 18-foot catamarans. The one-design catamarans are F18s, with a crew of two. This annual event has been growing in popularity, and entrants have now been capped at 60 boats. The boats are being removed from shipping containers and assembled on the beach in Public, and will soon line the beach in St Jean. Some are ready to go, and I’ve seen a few tuning up offshore from St Jean and Lorient. Actual racing takes place over four days, starting on Thursday 11/21 and finishing up on Sunday 11/24.
