Zion is back. Never tried Le Portugal but the smoked brisket is making my mouth water.

The smoked brisket would go along with all the cigarette smokers there

    Hi Kent,
We enjoy Le Portugal, mostly island workers on their lunch break. Typically, we are the only Americans during lunch, really enjoy their lunch specials, great prices. The Portuguese influence comes out in their food preparations. I do not find the smokers bothersome, as it is very open. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary.

Interesting that you say that. Every time we drove by, which was often with the detours, I would mention that it was crowded and Denise would reply, and look at all the people smoking.

The smoking thing is a big turn off for us. That feedback would be enough to keep us from dining at that restaurant, unfortunately. I grew up in a household where both my parents smoked, and I hated it. At least that’s one bad habit which I did not pick up!

My father a WWII veteren never talked about what happened overseas. He underwent shock treatment while admitted to the VA. Never the same man again. Both parents were around the clock smokers and alcoholics. I never smoked but will admit to having an occasional too many drinks. I'm far from perfect, but know we raised 5 children that are better people than myself. Denise was always way better than me.

We dine at QG often. Not always a smoker's haven. But you can request to be seated away from smokers. Also, a 7pm arrival and the air is quite fresh. Many fans installed to help too.

And the smokers start early. Every time when leaving Mass in Lorient on Sunday I drive by and it is smoke heavy.
My lungs are shot from smoking 30 years ago and now Iím allergic to it.
