WHERE'D YOU GO BERNADETTE by Maria Semple

I just finished this book and couldn't put it down. Bernadette moved from LA to Seattle with her Microsoft top executive husband. She manages to alienate her neighbors and families at her daughters private school while trying to cope with the regional differences. Yes it is being released shortly as a movie, but I can't imagine it would do justice to the book.

. . . eager to, at least, see the film (i.e., don’t know when I will have time to read the book). I moved — years ago — from LA to Seattle (there when Microsoft went pubic . . . about $20/share), & I don’t recall “regional differences.” As a matter of fact, I felt very much at home & developed friends who remain very close, to this day.

Agree- for us movie will do it also!

Saw the movie today here in our town of Bluffton SC at the nearby Cinemark, loved it, funny parts, some not so, but we both enjoyed Bernadette followed by lingering lunch ! We recommend Bernadette, for those who see it, did you recognize the realtor & can you name her ?
