The Voyager ferry is offline for repairs until at least Saturday. Temporary plans to use Shantiwa II as an alternate ferry appear to have fallen through. It’s unclear from the phrasing of the FB post below when service will resume.

Just a point of clarification- Are Voyager and Great Bay Express (Shantiwa) separate companies or are they both owned by the same people? Guess if separate, Great Bay declined to allow Voyager to temporarily use the Shantiwa II?

Voyager is a St Martin company, Great Bay Express is a St Maarten company. From a distance and without sufficient facts to know for sure, the issue does not appear to have been between the two companies, who were trying to work together, but more of a regulatory/legal one.

Voyager III's new engine was installed today, sea trials are scheduled for tomorrow, and they hope to resume service on Sunday morning. From FB:

With a ship being used every day back and forth, the salt and wear and tear takes its toll! We just returned from Mackinac Island by ferry which of course is fresh water. The ferries are plentiful- round trip for the 25 minute trip each way is $25.00. If you haven't been stay the night at least once- the evenings and early mornings there are heavenly.
