Wondering how this group is doing economically and with housing if they have decided to stay on St. Barts and raise a family. Thanks

I have two good friends who have both left the island with their family's due to the lack of affordable housing....not going to get any better anytime soon...

Those seasonal workers often, as you say, stay in houses and apartments rented by their employers. Those places are thus unavailable to those born on St Barth, which was part of the original question. After Irma, many of those houses and apartments continued to be rented by the employers, even while their establishments were closed for repair and upgrade.

After Irma we rented a villa in Anse de Cayes. The houses on each side were filled with workers. Many vehicles, however they never interfered with our parking spot. Both houses on each side of the villa were occupied by workers. They never were noisey and were extremely polite. At the end of the week I brought a case of beer to each of the houses.

Thanks. Bigger gesture from them for respecting our peace and relaxation. We had one villa years ago when workmen started drilling and impact hammering before seven.
