    Through around the time that Brigitte Bardot was the face (etc.) of the French Republic, graduates of a certain type of High School (particularly S.J.-run) would make the connection...

    Anybody take shots of the fireworks that you can post? Usually they are quite pretty on the island!

    I didn't Google ( I duckduckgoed ).

    A hint: origins of emblem go back to antiquity. Roman days. Think before "France" was "France".
