I just came across this article. I don't know if it is true but I never heard about a relationship to fertilizer runoff

Some is from Africa and some from South America. Seems to be flourishing and fertilizer has been named as a cause.

The University of South Florida Sargassum Watch website that has been posted before may be of some interest.
Check out the thread "Reforest the Tropics". A group that is working on a practical lessening of deforestation.
Has the Sargassum disappeared or everyone is used to it?
