LES VOILES RACING UNDERWAAY

A gorgeous group of boats just passed Point Milou headed West and some of them will reverse course and race back to the finish line. I am told on good authority that the start and finish line is where the Bucket’s start and finish is.

I don’t know how many boats there are, but it is a bunch!

There are 69 entries, divided into 4 major classes.. the boats range from local 34 footers to majestic 72' racing yachts with professional crews...here are a few shots from yesterday...taken from the shore by Rosemond, he'll be out on the water on Friday and Saturday for his up close shots...

Nice shots! We arrive tomorrow morning, bright and very early, and can’t wait to see these beauties fly through the water!

Those are fabulous shots from land. Can't wait to see what pictures he takes from the water. Rosemond, the magnificent!

GMP62 - Wishing you both safe travels from New Jersey and a marvelous time in Paradise.
Thank you also Rosie for sharing the excellent pics of the racing action!

Thanks, Dad. Arrived on St. Barth about 7:45 am yesterday - Tradewind flight was early which was nice. Got some shots of Les Voiles from the villa but I’m having difficulty uploading them. I get as far as attaching it but it won’t allow me to complete the upload. FrustratingC0D9097E-3148-48B0-A67F-5B37EA461EFF.jpg

We had to come home yesterday (Wednesday the 17th) and left on an 11:20 a.m. flight. We were fortunate to see the Les Voiles boats with sails billowing during another race as we took off. Truly a magnificent sight!

I love when that happens. We lucked out seeing the Bucket pre start staging and the finish from our deck. Life is good.

Today is the last day of racing, and again there’s a Mark in the bay in front of the villa. They’re close enough that I can hear the creaking from the rigging.
