Les Artisans apparently robbed this past Sunday night-

We learned Albert? received a burglar alarm call for his store around 1am. Thinking it was a false alarm, he went by himself, without Gendarmes to investigate. We understand he arrived finding one man inside the store and another outside. Albert we were told was not harmed. Early Monday morning, we were told the Gendarmes cordoned off the Ferry and harbor hoping to catch the thieves. The entry to the store, we were told, was made through a window on the side of the building. No further details are available at this time.

The really important thing is that Albert was not harmed.

In all my SB years this is the first time I have heard about a retail break in. Hope it’s not a trend

we were just in the store and everything looked "normal"

There have been other robberies on the island but few and far between. Donna Cohen of Donna Del Sol told us about her store when it was on the upper level years ago. She had some major pieces removed in the middle of one night. She told us she never gave up looking and finally several years later her pieces came up for sale. To make a long story short, she went on to tell us it was an organized Russian group that made the heist. Fortunately she was able to retrieve much of what had been taken.
