Irma took out the old tile sign at Saline so a new one was made with a slightly different design.

We also were there today. The beach looks great. There is a restoration of dunes project going on. We also noticed a road on the left of the entrance leading to a site that looks like a possible construction? Perhaps this is just a platform for the dune project? Hope so!

This is the view from the top of the path to the beach on the left side. It’s hard to tell from the photo but it’s a big area that is cleared.

and just to make everyone on the Island or on their way to St Bart's feel a little better just look at the pic of our patio in what was once known as the "sunny south"....we ended up with about 13 inches of snow...and then some freezing rain....

Where in the south, must have been NC or VA ? We were in Charleston SC for the weekend, rain only, but seemed cold enuf for snow/ice like they had on 1/3/18.

Richmond, Va....initially we were only supposed to receive about an inch....then things changed pretty quickly....St Barts looks very attractive right now but we are not scheduled to visit until March...

From the prior thread mentioned by s(hopper) - snakemtn was concerned about possible "environmental destruction" and followed up through the collectivité.

The response I've gotten from the Environmental Dept. states: We are aware of the currentplacement of fill in this area. This embankments is authorized by theCollectivity. It is intended to reinforce the back dune weakened by thehurricane. The embankment will subsequently be revegetated with local species.
