Emeraude Plage Hotel

We have heard that the Emeraude Plage Hotel, on St. Jean beach, was destroyed during Hurricane Irma, with no intention to rebuild it.
Is this true?
Does anyone know its status?

Not open. No work being done.

It is staying in the family. Needs lots of work. When you walk the beach there is a pic of us on the screen

I was just on the island and walked by it daily. All the boats for the cata cup were tied up in front. It does not look as if it has been touched since the hurricane. I was told by multiple sources that was sold to Le Barthélemy. I read an earlier report that it was a lease..that seems to make sense. The whole situation is so sad. It was such a special place. Whatever they decided, I hope the employees and owner are happy. I hope whatever emerges there is as lovely as EP.

Last discussion Cheryl and I had with ownership is that it is staying in the family.

Hopefully the family or whoever will begin to make improvements as it is too beautiful of an area to leave as is!
