Calling in St Barths

I know this may be a stupid question but I’m wondering if anyone can confirm for me how to make an emergency phone call from my Canadian cell phone while in St Barths. I have seen a post on this in the Timeless Tips but there seems to be confusing results. So, do I dial 011 + 590 + Number OR is it just the plus sign (+) 590 + Number OR are there specific emergency quick numbers for fire, police, hospital?

I called Tamarin from my T-Mobile cell. It's 011-590-590 etc. This applies to Canada too. I'm in St Barts now.
Emergency numbers are 18 for medical and 17 for police but those are local calls.

When you use a cell phone, the + sign acts as the 011, so it's kind of a shortcut..Either way works fine.

If you are staying in a Villa you could also call your Rental Agency or Villa Manager- Day or Night for an emergency and they will move quickly for you.
