    Overnight in St. Martin

My flights from Miami to SXM in Jan. and Feb. are now shown to arrive at 4:06 pm, too late for a connection to SBH without a miracle.

Does anyone know of a decent hotel where I could overnight in SXM?

I used to know Tim but all my recommendations were on the beach. That’s gone for now.

Don't know yet, keep checking, haven't seen any list of what might be ready. Too late to fly to SBH, ferry which we've never done in 20+ trips. Got stuck once trying to lv SXM & hotel by airport name escapes me, reminded me of UDEL dorm hhallways of painted cinder blocks...Maho something, had casino ?

When we experienced delays and arrived after dark one year, Premium IV got us a room at The Atrium near SXM. No idea if it was damaged in the storm; their website doesn't say.

I think Maho is a Sonesta now but do not know if it is open for business.

I understand that Mary’s Boon and Beachside Villas, located on the same stretch of Simpson Bay, withstood relatively little damage in comparison to most places.

Maho has actually been sold to Sunwing, a Canadian low cost/charter airline. Maho took a lot of damage during the recent hurricanes, and is closed for the season.

Maho has announced support for their employees, essentially paying all of them for a 3-day work week whether they work or not, and more for those who actually work for more than 3 days:

Just check ferry schedule and it looks like Voyager has a 6:45 out of Marigot. It would eliminate staying in St. Martin.

That sounds like a good backup plan.

At that hour both the rental and car agencies would be closed if that applies. I'm sure they would meet you at the dock tho.

Can you switch and go Tradewinds thru SJU?
Otherwise the Westin is a brief walk from the Ferry but don’t know how it is post Irma.

In the same boat as you. Scanning for options so I don't have to cancel my trip. Thanks for the option!

Tim you could splurge and take a private speedboat or a charter on SB Commuter — its expensive but so much easier than a taxi and unknown hotel and dubious dinner and another taxi and travel the next day ... you'd get where you are going the same day and really enjoy the next day so much more!

Tim has a way to go before he leaves. Many more will open up by then.

    Re: Overnight in St. Martin

This morning American changed our flights for April to a 3:15 arrival from Miami. (We originally got in at 1:15 from Charlotte). That must be the same flight you are on Tim, but during Daylight Savings Time. It looks like American is, at this point, assuming it's going to be the only flight they will have in April. Does anyone know how the repairs are coming on the SXM airport?
