SXM AA Missed Approach

. . . been a passenger in similar circumstances a number of times: Rather sobering as lift begins & the plane cabin becomes eerily silent as passengers realize what's happening.

That is why they have so much training- professionals at the controls! May look frightening but as a pilot said in his tweet 'we can (n)ever go around after a touchdown.'

A go around is possible even after touchdown as long as thrust reversers have not been activated (this is true for most aircraft types / airline procedures). In this case, it seems that pilots decided to go around as the aircraft was not aligned with the runway centerline. SXM does not have a precision approach system (such as an ILS), therefore the final part of the approach is a visual manoeuvre (not easy in marginal weather with reduced visibility).

Thanks for the opinion of a professional.
