Aborted Landing

Altitude and airspeed are beautiful things for any pilot to have. These pilots aborted their landing while they still had both. Going Around isn't a failure, it's a command decision.

Now why they were so low, that's a different question and a different conversation.

About 25 years ago I was a passenger on A/A coming into SXM one stormy night with zero visibility. When the pilot made the decision to go around and punched up those big jet engines to clear the mountain at the end of the runway, my adrenalin level went up several notches. When we finally came around to land after the weather cleared, I decided that it was an experience worth serious celebration.
