What kind of hummingbird is this?

I'd say it's the very rare equinebird, more specifically the jackassbird. The white around its beak is a dead giveaway :wink2:

If you were strictly on the east coast, it would be and easy ID. We only have the Ruby throated hummingbird. But the fact that you're in Texas makes it much tougher. You get a lot of western migrants passing through.

If you can get a photo with all of the head showing I'm sure we could nail this sucker down.
