Best book so far this trip

A moving story narrated by a 60 year old physician who served in WWII but learns about his father's demons in WWI when he is contacted by his Dad's commanding officer and given the chance to read his wartime diaries.. War, brotherhood of soldiers, medicine, mental illness, psychiatry and love. All covered beautifully.

Faulks also wrote "Charlotte Grey" "A Week in December" a probably a dozen more good stories. This one was super!

He definitely has a way of weaving the threads of an intricate tale. Thanks, Amy. Another to add to my ever-growing list!
