National Museum of African American History and Culture

I registered on day one of the pre-opening to receive free timed-tickets and today we gained entrance at 12:30. A profound experience that begins in the claustrophobic lower-level exhibit of slave ships and soars to accomplishments in business, sports, music, theater and the military.

This weekend we attended a screening of the new movie Loving, about The Supreme Court decision Loving v. The Commonwealth of Virginia. Today we saw a copy of that decision.

I look forward to visiting. How did you like the architecture? I haven't seen a photo of the building in context of other Mall museums, but by itself, the building looks quite dramatic.
