Great view, ok food. Do a late lunch, linger and enjoy the sunset.
appreciate the "Go Bucks"..
This is interesting, beachfamily. When did this "pay for parking" begin? My last trip was March and I spent many days at Shell Beach and never once encountered a sign nor a verbal request to pay. Thanks for your feedback.
Wasn't there also a sign telling you how much you'd have to pay for parking?Ohhhh....THAT parking, I understand. For the past several years, it's been parking for Do Brazil ONLY. If I'm going to spend the day at Shell Beach, I park on the street just past the school (on the right hand side) or on the street going up toward the Gustaf. Now, if I'm going to dinner at Do Brazil, I self-park in the spots specific for Do Brazil. I haven't ever encountered a valet, but then I sometimes eat dinner while the sun is still out.

We also found a spot right after the school, on the right.
cec1, I just found it very disconcerting.I hesitate to wade into the valet parking issue . . . but, nonetheless, will say that when I recently turned left at the described corner, there was a sign relating to valet parking, but it primarily seemed to relate to an area at the edge of the private lot on the right where cars were perpendicularly "valet parked." Like with so many other island restaurants without private parking, my understanding is that Do Brazil had to lease this space to conform to a requirement of the Collectivite. (I said, by the way, that the valet sign "primarily" related to this situation because I noted that the Valet also was double-parking cars on the right side of the street. When I arrived, there was a vacant street space on the left . . . with double parked cars on the right . . . and the Valet made no attempt to stop me from parking in it or to charge me for doing so.)
Look, no big deal, drop your wife off, and you drive around the block to find a place to park. It is one of our go to beach restaurants. David the manager is great.

Ok....now I need to find a husband. :dejection:
