Dear Fellow San Juan Transiters,

If you have passed through the San Juan, Puerto Rico American Airlines hub with any regularity over the years, and are an Admirals Club member, you may be saddened to hear that American has decided to close the Admirals Club in Terminal D. American's operations and gates will be moving to Terminal C in December 2015.

Several members of our organization have emailed Mr. Douglas Parker, CEO of American Airlines, and heard a personal response from his team. If the closing of this lounge will disrupt your travel in the next few months, I would like to kindly suggest two things:

  1. [*=left]Send a note to Mr. Douglas Parker, CEO of American Airlines. Doug.Parker@AA.com
[*=left]Forward this email to any person you know who transits SJU with any regularity.
Thank you. Together we might get AA's ear.

Best Regards,

PS. For clients flying on to St. Barths from San Juan on Tradewind, you can now enjoy a private lounge equipped with WiFi, snacks and refreshments. Plus, a personal escort will escort you through security down to the tarmac. Ask us for details!

I saw that but AA doesn't fly from SJU to SXM anymore so other than Tradewind this message is moot for me.

Doesn't make any difference who you fly if you have the card you can use the club.

One of the AA people in San Juan told me that American "could not come to agreement" with the San Juan Airport authority for lease of club space in the new terminal. The airport authority wanted more rent than AA was willing to pay.
