TUIfly - Netherlands SXM Service

TUI Group is a German tour operator. TUIfly is their airline operation. The new twice a week flights will double the number of seats currently available on the Netherlands-SXM route.

"did it take this long for the Dutch to discover SXM"... the French have been flying to the island for many years

Is there a lot of Dutch tourism in SBH? Haven't run into any we can recall.

We met some great guys from the Netherlands when staying at the Normandie a few years ago. One of them was a physician and the other was a computer specialist. They had great thoughts on comparing the health care systems when we asked as they had also lived in the US (Pacific Northwest).

I didn't ask either of them about the amount of Dutch tourism in SBH, but that wasn't their first visit to the island.

Couple of years ago, I was a having a business lunch at Eden Rock and who do I see walking past the bar?
A famous Dutch film comedian, actor and tv show host, Paul de Leeuw, seen below here in this screencapture photo with yours truly with the briefcase playing an exec on his way to a meeting.

As a student studying in Holland, I had great fun playing a 'figurant' in Paul de Leeuw's comedy film called "Filmpje".

Paul and I both lived at the time in the same street in the city of Rotterdam, The Netherlands (Holland). So when I saw him there at the Eden Rock bar & restaurant in St. Barths, I called out and stupidly asked him what he was doing there. "Vakantie, natuurlijk!". Vacation, ofcourse! He answered. Duh!

So yeah, we Dutch also vacation in St. Barths.
