I agree. Hard to get the feel of the island on a one-time visit--- the case with too many writers. Mr. Behr has visited several times and his writing reflects his experience. Well done.

Not a bad article but it seemed a bit ironic to me to save a few euros taking the ferry but then spend your time at the Guanahani and have dinner at Sand Bar, L'Isola, Maya. Not exactly budget options. Oh by the way, where is the shaded picnic table at Saline? I'd love to find that spot.
