Now comes hurricane Danny!

Dinner last night with Jean-Claude and crew at L'Espirit . . . .visits to La Gloriette . . . lunch at Tamarin . . . dinner at Eddy's . . . Maya's cocktails. All are prepared for a storm. Several "buttoning-up" parties in the works. Folks are cautiously optimistic (as boats are being pulled from the water!).

As "Don't Stop The Carnival" taught us . .

Champagne si', agua no
Let it rain, let it blow
to hell with the h2o
Champagne si', agua no

Did you make lemonade?

Thank you, Andy . . . much appreciated. Trees have been trimmed . . . wine, water, food, flashlights, & candles ready . . . shutters are partially closed. What we're missing most is the company of Mod Tim, who always used to be a guru in such times when he was regularly on the island. I hope we learned our lessons from him!

Hunker down and be safe. Thinking of all my island friends and praying you will all be OK. HUGS

Not a boat in the harbor! No risking a repeat of the Gonzalo rout.

given the way they moor and tie up to docks and their subsequent track record of sinkings in bad storms, that's probably a good idea! U:eagerness:

be safe

No problem (so far).

The boatyard in Lorient was getting busier as the week went on. Thursday and yesterday it looked like they were pulling a boat out every 20 minutes. Don't know where they are going to put them all. They were jammed gunwale to gunwale in the lot.

Glad to be back home now. Everyone on the island keep safe.

and after today, no st barth commuter flights until further notice

St Barth Commuter

Wind Speed Probabilities have continued to drop. St Maarten is now forecast to have only a 14% chance of sustained Tropical Storm Force winds in the next 72 hours. Six hours ago St Maarten was forecast to have a 31% chance of sustained Tropical Storm Force winds in the next 72 hours. Danny may be a Tropical Depression by the time that he gets there.
