It was great to be back at L'Isola in Gustavia. The attentive staff and the low light dining room were perfect for Saturday night. The table candles are bigger and it was a bit easier to read the menu. Still, additional lighting helps and mini lights and cell phones were put in to action.
The presentation of melon and prosciutto was beautiful. The melon was sweet and went so well with the thin sliced aged ham.
Luscious red ripe tomatoes and fresh buffala mozzarella made for another colorful starter.
Another very good starter was the carpaccio de manzo-prime roast carpaccio filet slices with arugula and shaved Parmesan in a lemon dressing
And the delicious Mezze Luna-veal ravioli in a veal broth
The bone in veal chop Milanese topped with tomatoes and arugula was falling off the plate. Phil had his without the salad and they brought some tomato sauce to accompany his finely breaded chop. The vegetables of the day were roasted potatoes and asparagus spears.
I had the tender and pink lamb chops served with a crust of fine herbs-tasty and melt in your mouth good with the same crisp asparagus and potatoes as the side dishes.
