Unpacked and rested up for the ride into the hills of Lurin for our traditional first night dinner at Santa Fe. We received a great welcome home greeting from Manu and his fine staff.
We began with cocktails and enjoyed a nice breeze while we gazed at the twinkling lights of the neighboring islands. We counted our blessings and enjoyed this fine dinner.
I began with a carpaccio of fresh wahoo drizzled with olive oil and lemon and topped with chopped tomatoes and garnished with bright red sweet tomato wedges.
Phil had the Caesar salad, sans anchioves, and topped with bacon.
I enjoyed the shrimp in lemon butter with white rice.
Phil raved about the Boeuf Bourguignon served with penne pasta
We ended the dinner with rhum vanille and little Baba rhum pastries.
It is just wonderful to be here on island and we enjoyed the starry sky and full moon as we headed back to Lorient.
