Our last morning on St Barts dawned as beautifully as the previous thirty. We packed up the car and had breakfast once again at La Petite Colombe adding two chocolate croissants to the cafe au lait and croissants buerre to fortify us in case the food on the boat didn't measure up. We needn't have worried. We dropped off our vehicle at the airport and the TopLoc owner drove us to La Capitainerie in town. We were ready for our sailing adventure.
The Shihadehs stopped by on their usual morning hike from their villa.
We boarded our home for the next few days at the quay.
We took a last look at the red roofs and green hills of Gustavia
and sailed off.
This is the way to travel.
Here's what the gazebo on the Rockefeller property looks like from the sea.
Our first stop was Ile Fourchue just past Colombier.
We relaxed on comfortable bean bag chairs up front as we glided along under sail.
They brought us rum punch.
The anchorage at Ile Fourchue had only a few boats
but we picked up a mooring stern-to in a small cove with no other boats for snorkeling.
After some nice snorkeling along the rocky cove, it was time for cocktails.
We hoisted the sails and set a reaching course north.
We resumed our position.
We set up a fishing line off the stern to see if we could catch some fresh bonito.
After an hour or so, Tintamarre appeared
and we anchored close to the sandy beach.
We swam with sea turtles nearby.
