Really sad to hear that there are apparently a lot of bay scallops out there but they just aren't "cutting big" meaning the 80 year old lady that opens my husbands scallops is bummed as she gets paid by the weight of her work. From what I hear there are a ton of legal scallops out there but the meat inside is really small. Kona is off in weight by over 15 pounds a day.

The only good thing is that instead of selling to a wholesaler Kona has created a great customer base on line which includes the likes of Le Bernadine ?sp in NYC as well as places in Ch-town, DC, SFC, and Teluride. Hopefully all will work out but he is pretty upset right now. Will have way over priced FRESH fed exed scallops at the November 11th soiree:) kr
