everything he says is 100% bang on correct....

interestingly enough, maneuver wise, the captain did everything wrong to get him into that situation and then did everything right after the collision....

still cannot believe he didn't see he was going into the curve too hot and didn't just go hard reverse instead of trying to steer out of it...that is the most critical decision in any curve where you go in to it too hot....do you take your way out and simply re point??...or do you adjust your curve and speed to get by and through it

15 knots is hauling ass for a ship that size..gonna take a lot of power ( and distance ) to stop her....maybe thats why he didn't do it...I think it maybe would have given him a better chance to come out of it ok, but not by much
 
So I wonder why the talk about how the Captain did this or that or could have done this or that.
 
dont know, except technically if the First Officer is in the bridge and in charge, he is the Captain per se
