this sign was photographed where Rt 6 begins in Sierra Nevada in its path across the country..to remind one where it ends and how far....

its not nearly as big...but as you re leaving town its before you get to Pilgrim Lake..about halfway between the Conwell traffic light and the lake...it has the miles and some town in California's name on it

they just put it up this summer

There is an image of a sign on Wikipedia, but it's not the sign that I remember seeing. The one that I remember said either Long Beach or Santa Barbara.

Now everyone will have heard of Bishop, CA.

When a cat had 4 kittens under our deck, we watched them grow and of course named them all-Boston, Bismark, Billings and Bishop! That was in 1993 and Bishop, the one we adopted, lives with Charlie and his folks in Port Washington.
