dinner for a snowstorm kinda night

first I make a ragu of sauteed crimini mushrooms, eggplant, garlic, onions, peppers, plum tomatoes, red wine, fresh cut basil and oregano, and ground organic grass fed veal.....let it all simmer and reduce...

boil up some mushroom tortellini .....

lay down the tortellini in a shallow soup bowl...cover with the ragu...fresh grated parmesian and pecorino romano over the top

fresh baked garlic bread

nice dry chianti

Warming up the incredible beef barley soup Kathy made last night. Some salad. Some bread from a local Italian bakery. Then, we'll watch the, supposed, blizzard roll in. I hope it is heavy. But... ever met a weather forcaster that was right? Except in SBH or Hawaii.

Mike, your meal as always sounds delicious. I made my chili today which isn't bad but your ragu sounds a lot better. Enjoy the evening.
