Interesting. I've been comparing the iPad to the Sony Touch reader. The iPad is like a miniature Macbook and it's by far the most fun. But I prefer the Sony to read for long periods of time. Less eye fatigue. The backlighting on the iPad is harder on the eyes.

No question the enriched ebooks (with graphics, photos, videos) are best read on an iPad or laptop, but for "old fashioned" reading I recommend one of the better gray scale ereaders.
 
I just barely stepped on the Kindle when it was laying on the floor and charging. A third of the e-ink display broke.

What a piece sh*it. It was such a soft touch that even an iPad wouldn't have broken.
