Clean, Sweet Wind: Sailing With the Last Boatmakers of the Caribbean sounds like a wonderful book. It is written by Douglas Pyle, I believe, who sailed island to island, meeting boatbuilders, fishermen, families...He met, became friends with and eventually part of a boatbuilding family on Bequia.
I can't wait to read it.

If you're in SBH for the West Indies Regatta you'll see some traditional handbuilt boats. Late April. Check the dates in the season's inaugural edition of Le Weekly, which has a great event listing. Hope somebody has pointed webmaster JB to Le Weekly as an info source for the website calendar.
