Marley Story

nice....

opened for the Commodores... nowthats a slap in the face if there ever was one...LOL

I didn't know that...but hey at least I sort of liked the Monkees....the Commodores on the other hand???>...

Yeah... Hendrix wasn't received too well. Not his target audience, but The Monkees were fans, and wanted him on the tour.
By the way, The Monkees are very underrated. Give 'em a listen... some excellent pop tunes which hold up well over time.

Oh!!! You just took the words right out of my, well, words. Daydream Believer with the strings in the background and those lyrics. The tv show was dopey, funny, and never hostile. Have you read Catch A Fire, a Bob Marley biography? Very interesting. And we just started The Finest Hours -arrived yesterday. I apologize for the mixed media.

The best book I have ever read on Marley was by his wife Rita titled No Woman No Cry...not the most flattering of all the books out there..raw honesty and very insightful

I will look for No Woman No Cry. Heard "I Don't Want To Wait In Vain For Your Love" this afternoon. That is my favorite. One night at Eddies, Ziggy Marleysang along with the people playing music. Very special - food and music, both.

Redemption Song is my favorite to hear, to play and and to sing....especially now that I have Lena singing along with me when I break out the 6 string and play it

Wendi and I on our wedding bands both have a Marley line...
I have "One Love" on mine..she has "One Heart" on hers...made and inscribed on St Barts

Bob was a true Warrior..From putting on that Concert on his death bed..another time they tried to assassinate him and he still went on stage the next day filled with gunshot wounds..Also had a huge soft side as well..He would regularly drive through Kingston and hand out 40 to 50k in cash to help his struggling neighbors..Legend doesnt even begin to describe him.

Thanks for sharing. I grew up in the 'Burgh and didn't know Bob played his last show there. I saw plenty of other shows at the Stanley Theatre in the mid/late '80s. Very sorry to have missed that one for sure...
