I don't see the iPad as an e-reader, it's just unusable in sunlight and too expensive for beach.

PS. Ordered the latest Kindle last week -- DHL tried to deliver the power supply yesterday.. No idea when the Kindle itself is going to be delivered. I'm going to see if it works for Laura with the books she reads and for some professional books I might try to read.

My favorite e-reader, especially Kindle on the iPad. The sunlight isn't bad except at the most direct angle. Plus, it is much better in a dark room than the K.

Kindle is still my preferred e-reader. I use the Kindle iPhone app on occasion. I'm not sold on iPad yet. Maybe the next version.

You must have different kind of sunlight. Here the iPad is pretty unusable in sun and it doesn't take too long for it to start complaining it's running too hot and needs to cool down.

Anyway, as far as e-books are concerned, I don't see Kindle and iPad in the same product category. Kindle is just e-reader, iPad is everything else.
