Super looking. It's just the 2 of us for Christmas Eve so I'll be doing stuffed calamari and a caesar salad with anchovies.

However, Christmas is another story. I just finished my menu and it will be:

Apps:
Smoked salmon on cucumber strips with cream cheese rolled up and cut like pinwheels

Soup:
Pasta fagioli

Secondi:
Spinach lasagna with bolognese sauce and bechamel
Baked ham
Potatoes Anna

Dessert- cannolis and Italian rum cake

Haven't decided on wines yet
Grappa
Navan Cognac

Time to do the second stage of my Vanilla rum

yeah I was kicking around the idea if doing a tray of Lasagna as well for Christmas Day....we need to have a LOT of leftovers because there will be no time to cook anything substantial the week following Christmas..and I still may do a tray....

but yours looks very good too...

I am using Marcella Hazan's lasagna recipe except it won't be spinach- I'll make plain egg pasta. The bolognese sauce takes 3 hours but it melts in your mouth. I just dug out some carrots from my garden to use in the sauce. Had to use an axe to get thru the frozen top layer.

I have plenty. They will keep until the spring. I have beets too but I can't cut thru the frozen dirt.

thats cool....

I still have quite a few carrots and winter squash in the garage from the fall....still looks ok

Both menus look delicious. You're making me hungry! I love REAL Bananas Foster and you don't see it very often but dang it's good. You bringing out the good dark rum for it?

Andynap, what are Potatoes Anna?

Potatoes Anna are very thinly sliced potatoes layered between melted butter and baked with heavy cream.

Andy was the dish created by Anna or named after her when she passed away from eating it? Kidding.Amy
