It's another ski season,, another first run, and another confirmation that you can still ski another year. This year that run was at Whistler where the view from the peak looks like this with the iconic (and phallic) Black Tusk peeking out of the fog:
They built the world's largest inukshuk (symbol for the 2010 winter Olympics) at the top.

After the dicey entry, it opens into a nice powdery bowl with great views:
You can look across to Blackcomb peak:
Or you can take the new Peak2Peak gondola to get there without going to the base and back up. That's a good idea since both peaks are about a vertical mile above the base.
That fog you see hanging between the peaks looks like sparkly fairy dust glinting in the sun:
Definitely a beautiful place to ski.
