My favorite all-time live guitar intro. For those that can't take it, the song begins around the 3:20 mark: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FdWPeHFAMk

He is part of the Beatles inspiration along with Buddy Holly and Elvis.

I know- if you look at the entire video he was inspiration to many future hall of famers.

Here is another from the same set- this must be old- all the men are wearing a coats and ties. This gives a better idea of his guitar playing which was rather unique back then- remember the high school dance in Back to the Future and Michael J. Fox playing the guitar

Chuck Berry

Didn't Michael J. Fox give Chuck Berry the inspiration in that documentary "Back To The Future?"

Yeah, so many inspirations along the way. Some of the results I question. Yet, they got a lot of creative juices going. To our benefit. The arts are a very important adjunct to the business of taking care of business.

Andy- Anyone who loves RnR should love Chuck Berry. Everything that came after, owes something to him.

Fred- No one captures the grit of New York like Lou. The only one I can think of who comes close is Garland Jeffreys. I used to keep this song in the car. Would always play it as I drove into the city:
