we spent a fantastic weekend at two great places....
the first night was at trhe 1785 Inn in Intervale...this building is one of the oldest buildings in New England ( 224 years old )..wonderful inn with tons of charm and a 5 star restaurant too!
terrific bar at the Inn.....an apre ski favorite
the bar tree.................
this is the north country equivalent of vanilla rhum and it is very very good...
dinner at the 1785 Inn was excellent. I had a Lobster/Shitake soup which was very unusual and good, followed by a spit roasted free range duck with a chambord sauce ...Wendi had a lobster flan over a tarragon crepe which was out of this world, followed by fresh broiled scallops over wild rice, and our Caesar salad prepared tableside was the first correct and proper Caesar I have had in a while..raw egg and all...dessert was a flaming banana foster made tableside...everything was top notch
the view of Mt Washington from our table
the view from the other side of our table...this is the original 224 year old fireplace still churning out the heat
next day...checked out of the 1785 Inn and headed on over to the last true Grand Hotel in New England..the Mt Washington Hotel and Resort
first an Easter Egg hunt with the Easter bunny him/herself...
then a terrific Easter brunch......everything was top shelf...two thumbs up
all in all a great weekend at two very good places I would highly recommend...
