    Name that tune?

Ok, so there's not much going in the this forun today...politics aside...so let's play a game.

Here's a verse from a song I played on my iPod driving into work this AM. I've been singing it to myself all day. It's circa 1982ish, I think. Artist still active today.

Can you name the song and artist?

"My hands were clammy and cunning
    She's been suitably stunning
But I know there's not a hope in Hades
All the laddies cat call and wolf whistle
    So-called gentlemen and ladies
Dog fight like rose and thistle"

When they first got married he produced her next album and wrote some of the songs- absolutely horrible. I don't think his music and hers are compatible.

    Re: Name that tune?

but have they performed or recorded anything together?

just because they aren't from the same genre doesn't mean they can't collaborate. take country guy vince gill, his duet with diana krall "faint of heart" is quite nice. or popster christine aguilera's duet with operatic andrea bocelli "somos novios".

as my 18 year old daughter says, "don't be hatin'...start participatin', mom."

ok...to keep this fun game going:

i am just a poor boy and my story's seldom told.
i have squandered my resistance for a pocketful of mumbles, such are promises.
all lies and jest, still the man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest, hmmmm

you guys are too easy.......here is one my favs....dont Google

Down the street you can hear her scream you're a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbors start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green

There is a road, no simple highway
Between the dawn and the dark of night
And if you go, no one may follow
That path is for your steps alone

You who choose to lead must follow
But if you fall, you fall alone
If you should stand, then who's to guide you?
If I knew the way, I would take you home

    I lied...

I'm gonna find myself a girl
Who can show me what laughter means
And we'll fill in the missing colors
    In each other's paint-by-number dreams
And then we'll put our dark glasses on
And we'll make love until our strength is gone
And when the morning light comes streaming in
We'll get up and do it again

i don't know! i guess when i was that age i was forced to listen to whatever my mom had on the 8 track and she was a fan of "jimmy swaggert sings the classic gospel hymns" or "tammy wynette standing by her man" or "lynn anderson begging your pardon, i never promised you a rose garden".

    or

i was probably stoned and didn't know, nor care, who was providing the soundtrack to my high!

    ....pick one!

    Tossing another one out there:

"Hey pretty baby don't you know it ain't my fault
I love to hear the steel belts hummin' on the asphalt
Wake up in the middle of the night in a truck stop
Stumble in the restaurant wonderin' why I don't stop

Gotta keep rockin' why I still can
I gotta two pack habit and a motel tan
But when my boots hit the boards I'm a brand new man
With my back to the riser I make my stand
And hey pretty baby won't you hold me tight
We're loadin' up and rollin' out of here tonight
One of these days I'm gonna settle down
And take you back with me to the [Deleted]"
