TALULA'S TABLE

Best Dinner in a Long Time

http://www.talulastable.com/main.html

Center City Philadelphia has many fine restaurants, many as good as Django, a French Bistro in Old City. The problem was that this restaurant only sat 30 people and was always packed- reservations 1 month in advance. The push to make this place a 4 star restaurant made for early burn-out for the owners and they sold it after only a few years in business. No one knew what happened to them until our current restaurant critic found them in Kennett Square the mushroom capital of the world. They had opened a country store where they sold home made dinners and lunches to go, cheeses from all over the world and other exotic gourmet foodstuffs. AND, they decided to offer one dinner a night to a 12 lucky people. So they named it Talula

Re: TALULA'S TABLE

Looks amazing!

If anyone is a Food & Wine subscriber, Saturday night I made the cover recipe and the inside back cover as a starter. I didn't have my camera at home so these are from the magazine:

Oven-Roasted Lamb Chops with Mint Chimichurri

Goat Cheese Mousse with Red-Wine Caramel

The lamb was fine...I could have used a little more heat from the japalano. The stunner was the goat cheese starter. The red wine caramel was out of this world! A wonderfully rich, sweet/savory concoction that complimented the cheese nicely. It was a blast to make as well

Re: TALULA'S TABLE

I use chimichurri for a lot of things- steak, lamb- it's a wonderful dressing. Goat cheese goes with everything. Looks very nice.
