Re: Tourney, Second round.

Kansa??.,.huge disappointment....after watching how solid they looked winning the Big 12, I had them in the sweet 16 I think...but thats what can easily happen when you back a very young immature team....its a crap shoot for sure

Re: Tourney, Second round.

I will refrain from any trash-talk regarding my slight lead, going into today's games, for 2 reasons:
1) I have GW taking Duke out. If they don't, and Duke makes a run, I'm toast.
2) Leading in this pool translates to 193,471 place in the overall ESPN pool.

Re: Tourney, Second round.

yeah but you got your eye firmly focused on 190,000th place if GW beats Duke...LOL

a housewife from Peoria who picks by mascots is probably number 1

Re: Tourney, Second round.

well good luck...highest Ive ever got in here was 30,000th...and I was red hot...this is a tough bunch

Re: Tourney, Second round.

The leader has one wrong (Iowa). Things might be different if you could only enter one bracket. Filling out a dozen brackets proves nothing, regarding basketball savvy.

Re: Tourney, Second round.

I completely agree with that Eddie...Im in 8 contests, 6 for money, and I have the same crappy picks in all 8...LOL

Re: Tourney, Second round.

I'm in a few. Same picks, though. Have GW over Duke in each. I almost did one with George Mason over Mich. St. but, in retrospect, stupidly thought, "no way".
To win these things, you have to go out on a limb. Pick a high seed you think is vulnerable and knock 'em out early. If everyone else has the high seed going deep, you're in good shape.
GO GW!

Eddie, your graciousness is noted and appreciated and here is the link to me falling on my metaphorical sword as amends for doubting your evident wisdom re the Georges.

Besides, that's an 11 year old nipping at your heels and Duke is already up 6.

BTW , this from ESPN's web site:

George Washington has split 26 all-time meetings with Duke, but the schools have met just once since 1956.

In the words and inflection of Johnny Carson, "I did not know that!"

Re: Tourney, Second round.

It's not looking good for GW right now. If they can get some shots to drop they can climb back into it. They need to find an answer for Williams, too. Getting a call, or two, would also help.

Re: Tourney, Second round.

DUKE~yes.

GW~no.

Does GW have a chance...no.

Why~DUKE. Incredible Coach, a couple of great players, great team and a gameplan each game that rises to the occasion. Finesse and Execution over speed and brawn.

GO DUKE.

I know many love to Hate 'Em, but you gotta love their hunger for that Trophy.

Will Duke get there? We'll see...I bet 'em.

eddie this is the first time I've seen them....they run the same freakin entry play over and over again....wing to wing pass....passer runs a slant cut off a back pick on the elbow....they have to get more creative then that against the likes of a Duke..Duke was totally dialed into that play

Re: Tourney, Second round.

You can't win, against a good team like Duke, shooting 31%. The shots were there but, not falling. Even at only 38-39%, they might have won.

Re: Tourney, Second round.

Not really. Duke came to play today. The only reason it wasn't a bigger score difference is that Duke slowed down the game. I hate that but GW couldn't play their game and that was not luck. Still kudos to GW for a fine season.

Re: Tourney, Second round.

Eddie, you pick 'em good, but you're dreaming about GW...didn't happen.

My gut says if GW shoots 38/39%, then Duke plays better, stills wins.

Ric

MikeR, you are never in denial...always objective.

May the very best team that day win!

Re: Tourney, Second round.

Well said Josh...

And a very big congrats to GW for a wonderful season.
