    L’Hibiscus

Cheryl & I were going through our honeymoon notes and L’Hibiscus kept on coming up. Can someone please remind me? We dined at Guanahani our first night, Pelican 2nd night, Le Flamboyant 3rd, L’Ananas 4th night, Topalino 5th, Au Port (the best lamb medallions in the world). L’ Habiscus next night, last night Le Flamboyant to finish of our first experience at our happy place.

    Re: L’Hibiscus

L'Hibiscus was a hotel and restaurant located where Bonito is now. It had a pool in the middle of the restaurant, rooms below, and brought in nightly entertainment from everywhere from Guadeloupe to NYC.

When it was a hotel, Natasha was the woman who I remember running it. There were two waiters, Bernard and Denis, who worked at Hibiscus in the St Barth season, and then moved to St Tropez for the season there.

The entertainment, as noted elsewhere, was often working for airfare and room and board. Many of them, after shutting down at 22:00, hauled their butts over to Autour du Roche for another gig which payed.

It is no longer a hotel, I think the rooms are now apartments or staff housing, and it went though multiple changes (notably La Mandala) before it came Bonito.
