A lovely store about love, marriage, friendship and life. The story unfolds when 4 women from London agree to share a villa in Italy for the entire month of April. They leave husbands and/or lifestyles behind to enjoy this escape and set out on a search for serenity and inner peace.

Each December I try to reread a book from days of yore. A classic. A feel good story. This 1922 tale still holds up and I thoroughly enjoyed it the second time around..being older and wiser helps since I read it about 40 years ago!

Enjoy.

So many have told me this. The movie they say was darn good too.

The movie is indeed lovely to watch, just rewatched it recently. Love the book and have also read it multiple times. It always relaxes me to imagine an April vacation at this villa.

Be right back…adding to my list. Thanks, my Yankee Soul Sister. :heart1:

I have a really good next book too. My major year end read. Long but beautifully written. DEMON COPPERHEAD By Barbara Kingsolver. Coming of age in a Virginia coal town. Critics compared it to DAVID COPPERFIELD by Dickens.
