The difference between bocce and pétanque

Never have played bocci. However, when our oldest son was a Navy pilot and stationed in different parts of the country; we had a game using bocci balls. We called it extreme bocci. We have played it through woods, fields, and on beaches. Played in Florida, Texas, and California and on Cape Cod. We were on North Beach Island off Chatham MA. last weekend and there were four guys playing what we used to call extreme bocci. Guess we will have to rename it extreme boule.

My brother-in-law worked for me on Nantucket for a few months. I had a mostly Irish crew that were the best people who ever worked for and with me. While he was working with us, he always thought he had a better way of doing things. Hence the nickname. Got fired for trying to steal work from me.
